Visiting the website
This static website is hosted on a VPS provided by netcup GmbH. Your browser sends technical information needed to request and display a page. Depending on the request and server log format, this includes your IP address, the date and time, the requested URL, HTTP status, browser and operating system information, and the referring page, if supplied by your browser. Error logs may also record details of a failed request.
This information is used to deliver the website, investigate errors, and detect abuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a reliable and secure website under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Nginx access and error logs are kept for 180 days, then deleted.
Providing the technical request data is necessary to load the website. We do not use it to build advertising profiles.
Cookies, analytics, and assets
This website does not set cookies or use browser storage to track you. It has no analytics, advertising trackers, or embedded third-party content. Fonts, images, and scripts are served with the website, so loading them does not contact a separate font or analytics service.
Contacting us
The support button is an email link. It opens your email app; the website does not collect a form submission. If you send an email, we receive your email address, the message and attachments, and any other details you choose to include. Email services also process the technical information needed to deliver it. If you phone us, we process the information you share to handle your enquiry.
Email to info@getkaramba.com is forwarded by IONOS SE to a mailbox hosted by netcup GmbH. These providers process email content and delivery information as part of that service.
Contract-related support and enquiries are handled under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Other correspondence is handled under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on our interest in answering questions and resolving problems. Where a legal obligation requires us to retain correspondence, Article 6(1)(c) GDPR applies.
Correspondence is retained while needed to handle your enquiry and any related follow-up, then deleted unless legal retention duties or a specific legal claim require it to be kept longer. Please send only the information needed for your enquiry, and do not include API keys or passwords.
Who receives data
netcup provides website hosting and the email mailbox; IONOS provides email forwarding. They receive the data needed for those services. Information may also be disclosed to authorities where legally required, or to professional advisers where necessary to address a legal claim. We do not sell your personal data.
External links open websites operated by others. Their privacy policies apply when you visit them.
Your rights
Subject to the applicable GDPR conditions, you can request access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, and data portability. If processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it for the future.
Right to object: You can object at any time to processing based on legitimate interests for reasons relating to your particular situation.
To exercise these rights, email info@getkaramba.com. You can also complain to a data protection authority, including the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA).
We do not use website or support data for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
Website privacy and the Karamba app
This policy covers the website and correspondence with us. It is not a full privacy notice for the app, which is still in development.
In Karamba, the model and tools you choose determine where chat data is processed. On-device models process chats on your Mac. Cloud providers receive the messages, attachments, and context you send; their policies apply. A tool or a model server on another computer may also receive data. Provider API keys are stored in macOS Keychain.
Changes to this policy
This page will be updated if the website or its data handling changes. The date above shows the latest revision.
